Singakwenza
Singakwenza, an Early Childhood Development NGO based in Hilton, was identified as the organisation we support.
Singakwenza, meaning “we can do it!” is a charity organisation that trains practitioners, parents, and caregivers at the grassroots level to provide fun, educational activities that enable young children to learn through play, supported by resources made solely from recycling.
With the amazing support they receive from their donors, their early childhood education programmes have reached over 127,039 children and 7,512 caregivers.
“I do believe that early childhood development makes a significant difference in these children’s lives and may set them on a better path in life. Singakwenza empowers and supports the teachers so that they can, in turn, influence many children. They also use waste products and recycle them into toys (I love that!!) and make fantastic learning tools for the children.”

Howick charitable Medical trust
Founded in 2007, the Howick Medical Charitable Trust (HCMCT) is a public benefit organization dedicated to assisting individuals within the Howick Magisterial District who face financial challenges in accessing medical health care. Operating as a non-profit organization, HCMCT strives to provide an opportunity for those in need of private specialist care to have access to it.
With a vision driven by a profound belief in the inherent value of every individual, the Howick Medical Charitable Trust seeks to be a catalyst for positive change. Their mission – to support, empower, and facilitate progress within the community by providing medical treatments and services to those in need.
Through the generous contributions of their donors and the selfless dedication of various medical professionals, they aim to alleviate the burden of healthcare costs for underprivileged individuals, ensuring that no one is denied access to vital medical care due to financial constraints.
2003 Christmas gifts
Christmas 2023 came alive for the children at Angels’ Care in Howick. This year, instead of our doctors receiving gifts, we donated a book on their behalf to the Maddy Mouse House Library.
The Maddy Mouse House is the very first-of-its-kind library and learning resource room that has been created for the 160 children that attend the Angels’ Care Pre-Primary school in Howick. A place filled with books, cognitive puzzles and games- where imaginations can soar, hearts can heal and most importantly, where words can empower knowledge.
The books donated on behalf of our doctors were hand-picked to represent a range of talented South African authors and illustrators with themes to help the children spread their wings through self-awareness, grow kindness, learn about the environment around them and teach important life lessons.
Angels’ Care provides the kind of help which creates an environment of healing where hope thrives. To achieve this, they provide holistic care to ensure the optimal growth of children from indigent homes in the greater Howick area of KwaZulu Natal. They address the basic needs of children and ensure they have access to healthcare, quality education, and other human services. These services include education, food security for children, youth development, community outreach and crisis care.
