Practice Plus

History

Practice PLUS’s journey began after Lisa, founder of the company, completed a 4-year session in Scotland, while her husband fulfilled his medical fellowship. Before her time in Scotland, Lisa gained invaluable experience with an 11-year career in the corporate world of waste management. Upon returning to South Africa, Lisa assisted her husband with the setup and management of his Orthopaedic Practice in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. Taking this task in her stride, Lisa gained extensive insight into the business challenges medical practitioners face daily.

And so, in 2014, Practice PLUS’s honourable story began. Having identified the burden of administration was high on a doctor’s list of woes, Practice PLUS started assisting other medical practitioners with their admin challenges. With a determined team, the business saw more and more medical specialists signing up for Practice PLUS services.

Today, Practice PLUS employs 11 experts who all provide their clients with professional advice as well as powerful administration, organisational, communicative, accounts, negotiating and computer skills.
Lisa believes in the positive, empowering, life-changing power of upskilling and education. And, with this in mind, constantly sends her staff for further training to ensure Practice PLUS clients are receiving the optimum service.

Practice PLUS’s aim is not only to enrich our clients’ lives but that within the community too. Singakwenza, an Early Childhood Development NGO, based in Hilton, was identified as the organisation we support.

Lisa tells us, “I do believe that early childhood development makes a significant difference in these children’s lives and may set them on a better path in life.  Singakwenza empowers and supports the teachers, so that they can in turn influence many children.  They also use waste products and recycle them into toys (I love that!!) and make fantastic learning tools for the children.”

About Singakwenza

Singakwenza, meaning “We can do it!”, is a charity organisation which trains practitioners, parents and caregivers at a grassroots level to provide fun, educational activities that enable young children to learn through play, supported by resources made solely from recycling.

Through the amazing support they receive from their donors they have reached over 127 039 children and 7 512 caregivers with their Early Childhood Education programmes.
